Fleece Tie-Quilt Day

Fabric Shopping

With the Thanksgiving Holiday upon us, it didn’t take long for Max to have a day off from school. We took advantage of the time and made a trip to the fabric shop. After reviewing all the fleece options (and I mean ALL the options), he settled on a red, plaid, Kansas City Chiefs pattern and a blue, plaid, St Louis Blues pattern.

You Get to Make Your Christmas Present

Max is almost done

I bought the fabric as Max’s Christmas present. Since he wanted to get started right away, I told him, “Ok, but that means you get to make your Christmas present.” At first, I don't think he thought I was serious. He really wanted to just make it and take it home. But, I was serious. He was a good sport about it and said he can’t wait until he can use it. Then he jumped right in to get started.

A Quick Project

Making a fleece throw is a quick and easy project you can make in just a few hours. You need 1 ½ to 2 yards of two fleece fabrics, a rotary cutter, cutting mat and a ruler. Layer the two fabrics, WRONG sides together. (Ask me how I know.) Make 1” wide and about 5” deep cuts along all 4 sides. Then tie them together. You can view full instructions with pictures here.
