Almost Done

We're in that band of the dust storm that is blowing through, you know, because there haven’t been enough problems in 2020. I'm staying inside since I have several allergies.

UFO Friday

I made great progress on Heartland Express yesterday. All the rows are assembled, and I just need to join the rows and add the borders. Today, I'll finish up the first one and start making the blocks for the second one. I love how the track fabric in the sashing between the rows sets off each train. I found enough of the right fabric in my stash to be able to back both quilts.

Something New

Must admit, I'm itching to start something new. I have a few options, one of which is my own design. There are a few other quilts that I've been wanting to create so, those options are on the table as well.

There are three projects that I'm considering:

  1. Thick and Thin Log Cabin - This is an "Inventory Quilt". An inventory quilt is made by taking a bit of every fabric or a selection of fabrics from your fabric stash inventory to create a quilt.
Nine by Nine, pictured at the top of this post, is an inventory quilt I created back in 2010 when I was living in Virginia.
  2. Skill Builders April 2020 - Down Memory Lane. This project is a long arm skill builder project. It is a table runner and I've decided to make it from bright prints I had in my stash. The table runner features some house blocks and machine appliqued flowers.
  3. Quilt to be Named - This is a quilt that I'm designing so in addition to making the quilt, I need to write the pattern and name it ;-)

Which project would you work on next?

Of course, I'm still making blocks for the 100 day, too. I've planned out the next few weeks so I just need to make the blocks now.

#The100DayProjectMysteryQuilt

It's day 67 of The 100 Day Project Mystery Quilt - Block 67 is Hummingbird. This is a 3" block.

This sweet little block places half-square triangles at the end of a pinwheel. It was a little tricky making this block in the 3" size. Those are some small half-square triangles in this one. I can see this block in a larger size for a wall hanging or even a quilt.
