Check-in and a Challenge

Checking In

Like many of you, some things in my life are on hold for a while. But first, how is everyone doing? I’ve been checking in with family and friends via text and Facebook. Mostly, I'm staying home. I try to keep myself busy and walk Kona, my dog, on a regular basis. If you have a chance, please check-in via the comments and let me know what you are up to.

One of my projects involves sewing masks. A group in my areais coordinating efforts and getting them distributed where needed. This morningI’m using the “sanitize” cycle on my washer to prepare some fabric. After that,I’ll start cutting the pattern. Not sure how many I’ll make on this firstround. I’ll let you know.

Other Things

I’ve been talking about goals and tasks the last few posts. One of my goals involves getting back to creating artwork. I spent some timedigging in boxes in my basement for all my old supplies. I’m still looking for afew things, but I found enough to get started.

#the100dayproject

I found another challenge that fits right into my goal plan. I did well with the Blog challenge last December, so I decide to give this one a try. Here is what the website says about it:

It’s a free art project that takes place online. The idea is simple: choose a project, do it every day for 100 days, and share your progress on Instagram with the hashtag #The100DayProject. Anyone can join (yes, that means you!)

https://www.the100dayproject.org/

The project starts April 7th.

Remember Daily Tasks?

This challenge fits my daily task of working to create art every day. Some days I just sketch, but other days I spend more time refining a piece. I think this will be a fun way to share my process and progress. I will also share quilts, so it won't only be paintings and drawings, maybe I'll even write a pattern. We’ll see how things progress. But first…

Instagram

I must learn Instagram! That’s right, I’m completely and totally clueless on how to use Instagram. I have six days to figure it out. Now you know my daily task for the next six days, in addition to making masks. YouTube and Google, here I come…

Can you help me with Instagram? If you have tips to share, please comment below.

Until next time,
