Unraveling Creativity
My Current Quilting Projects & Essential Tips
Welcome to the relaunch of my blog. As I continue to refine my niche, I’ve decided to devote my first bi-monthly post each month on my quilting corner! I’m excited to share with you projects I’m currently working on, tips I’ve discovered, status of my long arm workload, and other quilting related information. In this edition of my blog, I’m sharing three projects I’m working on (my current WIPs--works in progress.) Each of these projects holds a special place in my heart and represents a unique aspect of my quilting journey.
The Three Quilting Projects I'm Working On
1. Block of the Month: Haberdashery by Nancy Rink
I’ve been loving the "Haberdashery" block of the month project designed by Nancy Rink, with fabrics by Dawn Heese for Marcus Fabrics. January saw the completion of Block 1, and now I’m diving into Block 2 for February. There are eight fabrics for Block 2, and I can see this block is a bit more intricate than the January block.

2. On the Long Arm: Patriot's Puzzle
Currently on my long arm machine is a quilt of my own design called "Patriot's Puzzle." This quilt uses assorted patriotic fabrics from my fabric stash, all collected during my travels across the United States. I’m still writing the instructions for this pattern and plan to launch it for sale later this year. The name “Patriot’s Puzzle” comes from the main block, the Missouri Puzzle block and the patriotic fabrics selected for this quilt.

3. Designing for a Paper-Piecing Ebook: 100+ Block Finishing Block
Lastly, I am in the process of designing the finishing block for a future 100+ Block paper-piecing ebook that I’m working on. This project began as a 100 Day Instagram posting project. While I successfully posted an assortment of paper-pieced blocks over the 100 days, I still needed a design to utilize all those blocks. That is the purpose of creating the finishing block. In addition to the finishing block, I’ll have multiple layout designs creating an ebook that allows the quilter ample options for creating quilts from the paper-pieced blocks they choose to create. Follow my blog as I share the progress of this ambitious project. I am eager to share this comprehensive resource with fellow quilters and see the beautiful creations it inspires.

Tip of the Month - How to Prepare Your Quilt for a Long Armer
Preparing your quilt for long arm quilting is essential to ensure the best results. Here’s a simple tip to help you get started:
Press Your Quilt Top and Backing Fabric: Before sending your quilt to the long armer, make sure to press both the quilt top and backing fabric thoroughly. This will help eliminate wrinkles and ensure a smooth, even finish. Remember, a well-prepared quilt leads to a beautiful, finished product!
