Ready for Row 4
It's another Monday and I'm ready for quilting. Yesterday I completed about four more blocks for the 100 Day project. Today, I plan to complete two more. And, I noticed a mistake on one, so I'll be redoing that block as well.
The Irish Chain
I also plan on getting another row of the Irish Chain completed. It takes several hours to stitch out one row and so far, I've only managed to complete a row and a half per day. I don't spend the entire day working on the long arm. I just have too many things to do and honestly, I'm not able to stand for as many hours as I used to.
When I work on the long arm, I'm a "watcher". I can't just press a button and walk away. Watching allows me to make minor adjustments and make sure everything is stitching out correctly. I also enjoy the process and seeing the results as they happen.
Other Projects
Some of my time is also spent taking online classes. I discovered so many great options at Skillshare that I can probably spend 40 hours a week just taking classes. Of course, that's ridiculous since I need to take time to practice the things I learn. And, well, do other stuff, too.
#The100DayProjectMysteryQuilt
It's day 56 of The 100 Day Project Mystery Quilt - Block 56 is Castles in Spain. This is a 6" block. It is an interesting star block which places triangles along the horizontal plane. I found this block in Maggie Malone's 5500 Quilt Block Designs (Malone, 2003)
I like this star block and I like the name. It's a bit weird but Castles in Spain reminds me of the "Rain in Spain" song from the play and movie My Fair Lady, which reminds me of my mom singing "I Could Have Danced All Night" and that makes me smile.
