The Weekend Ahead

Wow! What an amazing and beautiful walk today. Patty and I took a four mile walk at the lake. A cool breeze blew off the lake giving us just a hint of the Autumn to come. We went back to my car to get a jacket for Patty. That was enough of a delay for us to be treated to two deer crossing our path around the lake. Such beautiful and elegant animals.

Halloween Progress

Yesterday, I completed three of the Halloween placemats. Three more to go, plus the runner. I'll still need to bind them. My plan is to bind the placemats by machine rather than by hand. I also started hand binding Halloween HST.

Quilt-As-You-Go placemats

Besides the quilt-as-you-go  placemats, I remembered I have MORE Halloween placemats to quilt. Seems I selected Halloween inspired fabrics for the Skill Builder lesson from August 2019. I set those aside to purchase backing and never quite got around to it. Since I'm in a Halloween mood, I'll add those to my project list for the coming week.

UFO – Black Cherries

Still making black and yellow half-square triangles for Black Cherries. I've slowed progress on this one in favor of other projects around the house. And, sadly, at the dentist. I had to get another crown. This has been the year of tooth repair for me. Chalk it up to 2020. Looks like Black Cat will wait a little longer.

Long Arm Projects

Now that Home Coming Sampler has moved to the binding table, my line-up for long arm projects is as follows:

Home Town Heroes ready for basting

  1. Home Town Heroes – Skill Builder for May 2020
  2. Halloween Pillows – a quick project made from Halloween HST leftovers
  3. P2P Placemats – Skill Builder for August 2019 – a forgotten project that somehow got set aside but still fits my Halloween theme this month.

This list should keep me out of trouble for a week or so. Whoever said they are bored during retirement/COVID? Not me. I find plenty of things to keep me busy. I may even do some more drawing and painting ?

What are your weekend plans?

Until till next time,
