Can I Go Home? My Head is Full
Oh wait, I am home. I was thinking about a Far Side cartoon I saw many years ago. A student is in class and raises his hand to ask " Can I go home? My head is full." If you know about the enneagram, you've probably guessed that I'm a 5. We "fives" collect information like V-ger in the first Star Trek movie.
So, when the stay-at-home orders started, and many online courses where made available for free…
Yeah, I kinda signed up for a few (or more) things. But, on the positive side, I'm learning a lot about so many new things!! I'm in my happy place, but my head is getting quite full. I should probably just go back to quilting.
#The100DayProjectMysteryQuilt
Speaking of quilting, I just finished the fourth block of my challenge; Flying X. I rather like this block. It was easy to make, and I enjoyed playing with the color placement. Flying X is known by many different names including X Quartet, Double Quartet, and The X Quartette.
UFO – Sew Many Ways
Friday is normally my UFO day where I work on projects from my UFO pile. My Sew Many Ways quilt is still on the design wall. She is my Saturday project. I genuinely want to finish this one up because, of course, I have another project waiting in the wings. I have been thinking about the "why" my projects end up as UFOs. Sew Many Ways is one of two projects that got stalled because I did not have enough of the fabric needed to complete them. Fortunately, in both cases, I found more fabric. That isn't always the case.
Another reason my projects get stalled are the borders. There are two reasons for this. First, I do not like sewing long seams. They are BORING and take forever. Ok, not forever, but definitely boring. Second, I change my mind OR, do not have the right fabric OR enough of the right fabric. So, they sit.
Distraction is probably the biggest reason a project gets set aside. Remember the 5 on the enneagram? Yeah, we like to learn lots of different things and are easily distracted by something new to learn. I'm working on managing this tendency. In the meantime, I have a virtual class to get to ?
Until next time,
