June Already?
Can you believe it's June? This year is just so messed up. Time is standing still and moving forward at the same time. While I'm making progress, I still feel behind.
I'm still struggling with finding words, so I did not post yesterday. Being open to learning is a process, not a box to check off and move on. My goal is to continue posting every day, however, there may be a few days here and there where I take a day to pause and reflect. I hope this is ok.
Projects
Right now, I'm working to finish off a few of my smaller projects. I'm also taking some time to work ahead on my 100 Day project. My hope is that a backup of a few extra blocks will help me have the mental space to focus on other projects in the coming weeks.
This challenge is presenting several different challenges to me. I'm learning to show-up consistently here and on Instagram and Facebook. This project also involves staying committed to a goal. And, I'm picking up new skills and improving old skills. So far, I have been able to stay current. The halfway point is just five days away. Whew!
#The100DayProjectMysteryQuilt
Yesterday was day 44 and today is day 45. I did not write a blog post yesterday however I did post block 44 on Instagram and Facebook yesterday.
Block 44 is Double X. This is not a complex block and features a central square with an arrangement of half-square triangles surrounding it.
Double X – Webster, 1915
The Swallow – date unknown, Beyer
Winged Square – source unknown, date unknown
*The Quilter’s Album of Patchwork Patterns, Jinny Beyer 2009
Today's block is number 45 and called Flying Pinwheel. It is a 3" block. This block features a pinwheel within a pinwheel.
I found this block in Marsha McCloskey's Block Party (McCloskey, 1998)
How are your projects progressing?
Until next time,
