Making Progress
Beautiful weather here today. I'll be taking Kona for a walk in a bit. She is bothering me big time. She seems to know that I'm willing to take a longer walk with her on good weather days. Smart dog.
Halloween Projects
I finished the binding on another "Celebration" wall hanging. Two more to go. Those bindings go fast during a football game. I'm telling you, that's the secret. My next quilt to bind is the Halloween quilt I worked on earlier this year. I'm looking forward to decorating this year. It will be the first time I'm home for Halloween as I usually travel for Genealogy and or Quilt Market.
Once I finish the sampler quilt that is on my long arm machine right now, I'll be loading some Halloween pillows. I have two of them. They are the longer style. It is a short quilt project to squeeze into my schedule. I already have pillow forms and zippers, so they just need quilting and finishing.
Speaking of quick projects, I'm starting the quilt-as-you-go placemats, too. I like the fabrics for this project. The colors and patterns in some of the prints are Halloween-ish, without the typical Halloween images.
UFO – Black Cherries
Now, I realized yesterday, that I should have started working on my Black Cats wall hanging as my UFO instead of Black Cherries. The temptation is to table Black Cherries in favor of the cats. I am holding off since Black Cherries is progressing so well. Maybe I'll give it an extra push this week. That's another tip to getting UFOs done…have a project waiting in the wings that you tell yourself you can't start until the current one is DONE!
Tiny progress, however, it's still moving forward. Reporting here makes me focus on making sure I actually do one thing on this quilt. Even if it is just one half-square triangle.
Home Coming Sampler
What do you think of this name? I rather like it for this quilt. Yesterday, I was able to complete almost half the quilt. I did four and a half blocks plus two rows of the triangles between the blocks. I may just finish this quilt by the end of this week.
What is your secret to getting bindings done?
Until till next time,
