May the 4th!
It's Monday and it's May the Fourth. I'm one of those very few people who has never watched any of the Star Wars movies. My godson tells me this is a serious gap in my life experiences. He has never seen the movie BIG, or a few others that I think he needs to see, so we're even. Still, I know an amazing amount about Star Wars just based on the advertising and general pop culture knowledge.
Busy Week Ahead
I have a few house projects to get to this week. I've been putting them off to quilt. Do you ever do that? I'd much rather quilt than do laundry or weed the garden, but those things need to get done too. I also have a HUGE project in the basement. I moved to Missouri about 4 years ago and still have boxes in the basement that need to be opened and organized.
Some of those boxes contain things I knew I would be needing in the future and, well, the time is now. More and more often I've had to go in the basement to get something I know I have in one of those boxes. I've shifted and moved them so much I can no longer find with I'm looking for. So, I'll be devoting specific time to get to that project.
Better Photography
I'm also learning about taking better pictures of my quilts. I have…in those boxes of stuff…the equipment needed to set up a mini photography spot in my basement. This is one of the projects that is a sub-project of cleaning the basement. I've already painted the wall for the area white. I just need to find all that stuff and set it up!
#The100DayProjectMysteryQuilt
It's Day 14 and the block is Twisting Star. This block uses a technique called the partial seam. The trick is knowing whether your block spins clockwise or counter-clockwise. If you follow it the right way, the block is easy. If not, well, you will be making a LOT of partial seams. Ask me how I know. ?
This block is from Marsha McCloskey's Block Party, McCloskey, 1993
Until next time,
