Ready, Set…

We are five days into the second half of 2020. Can you believe that, second half of the year? I thought for sure it was October. I guess that means I still have time to get more things done, right?

Home Town Hero

I finished the second Heartland Express quilt and pieced the backing It's been added to the "to-be-quilted" file. I also made progress yesterday cutting fabric for Home Town Hero quilts. I found this "Disney-ish" fabric in my stash, so I'm making two in this colorway. I also have two other colorways. One features fabric with a stylized Marine logo. The other features star fabric.

My cutting table is a bit cluttered. (See feature image above) I have the next two weeks of the 100 day project planned out. And, I ironed the fabric for the next project, after the Home Town Hero tops are pieced.

#The100DayProjectMysteryQuilt

It's day 76 of The 100 Day Project Mystery Quilt - Block 76 is Le Moyne Star. This is a 6" block.

Le Moyne Star – This block has several names and is only more recently identified as Le Moyne Star. I've always liked this star. It is traditionally pieced using "Y" seams. In my version of the star, I divided the setting triangles to make it easier to join the star parts while maintaining a single piece for the star points. This eliminates the "Y" seam.
