UFO Friday
It's the end of the week and I'm back to working on my UFO project. I've made a few decisions for tbe Heartland Express quilt, or rather, quilts. Yep, it looks like I'll be making two of the quilts with the blocks I have made.
Too Many Engines
The reason for two is because I already made eight engine blocks. Not sure how I ended up with eight. With one per row, that would mean eight rows and that would make it a twin sized quilt. On the other hand, four engines per quilt will make two baby quilts. And, they do make cute baby quilts. One needs four more blocks and the other about a dozen car blocks.
To make it more adorable, I found some track fabric in my stash. I plan to use it for the spacer rows between each of the train rows. I don't have a lot of train themed fabric in my stash, so this was a great find. Cleaning my stash a few months ago makes it so much easier to find things now. Sounds like something my mom said a long time ago.
That's my plan for today. I'll also be making more blocks for the #The100DayProjectMysteryQuilt. I try to make a couple blocks every day, so I stay a few ahead. However, it seems every time I get a couple ahead, things get busy and I end

Welcome to day 32. Today's block is Merry Go Round. This block has a couple of different names and they all come from Nancy Cabot. She called it Merry Go Round in her Chicago Tribune column, October 2, 1935. It is also known as:
Amazing Windmill, Nany Cabot, Chicago Tribune, September 29, 1936
Mystic Maze, Nancy Cabot, Chicago Tribune, September 29, 1936
